Chapter Ten
Roosevelt
Leah had every reason to be upset with me. For two years, I took everything she gave me and only gave her a shell of a man back. True, we had never labeled our relationship as being monogamous, but I guess we didnât have to. The way we moved pretty much labeled it for us. I was there with her and her girls almost every day.
I helped with homework, went to cheerleading games, plays and ballerina performances. I even combed their hair if I needed to step out with them when Leah wasnât home. So, it had to be love. I didnât know if I loved her really until she asked, but it sure felt easy coming out of my mouth, easing the pain left there by Dice.
She had gone from being the âplace holderâ to someone who may ride out with my last name. In fact, Leah came a long way after I met her in the law firm I was interning at. She was their paralegal secretary and I was who they coined as Mr. Grope. My only mission was to grope bitches and move on, even with her.
After a few dinners and outings with the girls, I figured she was worth more than that. Her conversation was impressive to say the least. She knew things about politics to good ole school music from back in the day. Even hit the J with me too.
So, I decided to make her a little more permanent than the average female I may have spent a few dollars on and had hit the pussy. I knew she questioned why I was with her, but she was about her business even as a single mother.
She was pursuing a college degree, owned and kept an immaculate home, cooked, and letâs just keep it realâshe sucked a mean ass dick. She knew her way around a manâs dick like no other. Letâs not talk about her looks.
Like, man, she was gorgeous. I would say almost exotic with her large, round shaped eyes, full lips and dark-brown skinned that could be satin if skin were a fabric. She never had a bad day as she kept hair freshly done, washed, and layered around her full, baby face.
While she wasnât short, she wasnât tall either. She was about 5â8â and loved to wear heels that complimented her firm ass calves. She was like a chocolate fountain of good that I finally realized could be queen status. My forever queen.
Hell, I had to. Ed wasnât playing fair. He was playing for keeps and he should. He was smarter than me, even way back then when we were younger. How in the hell I didnât when it came it came to Dice was pure stupidity. But now, as I sat back and thought about my girls, Leah and her babies, I was going to be okay. Probably knew I was scared of losing her the night I she figured out what was going on.
Walking in the house, I saw the girls sitting on the floor in the family room, watching American Idol.
