With the theory, the dependence of the teleportation fidelity on the HOM visibility VHOM and FSS can be calculated, in both of the ideal case and real case in which the imperfections of the experimental setup are taken into consideration. The relevant calculated results are shown in Fig. 5.18b (adapted from Fig. 4 in Ref. [98]). In Fig. 5.18, it is obvious that the HOM visibility should be higher than 50% for the violation of classical limit. In contrast, the teleportation fidelity is more tolerant to the FSS under VHOM = 1, and the classical limit is violated even under the FSS = 5 eV. This can be attributed to the fact that the lifetime of the X state in the QDs used in the experiment is rather short, about T1X = 265 ps, which can lead to probability density function decaying rapidly when compared with the time evolution of the entangled state. To verify the validity of the theoretical mode in Eq. (5.7), several QDs are measured, and the average teleportation fidelities with them are shown as a function of their photon indistinguishability VHOM and entanglement fidelity fE in Fig. 5.18c. For the sake of simplicity, data are shown as a function of 1/2(fE + VHOM), although it has been predicted in Fig. 5.18b that VHOM brings stronger impact on the teleportation fidelity when compared with fE. It is obvious that there exists an excellent quantitative agreement between experiments and theory, which means that the theory developed above could cover the physics determining the measured values of teleportation fidelities on semiconductor QDs. The small discrepancy between the theoretical and experimental results in Fig. 5.18b can be mainly attributed to the uncertainty in the FSS that can be as large as 0.3 meV.
