Start to breathe with the plant, knowing that as you breathe in you are breathing in the oxygen it produces and as you breathe out you are breathing out carbon dioxide that is being absorbed by the plant.

Allow yourself to feel supported by the elements: your breath, the sun, the fire in your belly, the earth, the water that flows through you.

Begin a self-treatment, placing your hands over the areas of your body that you feel drawn to. Ask reiki to guide you as to where you need it most. Remember that you don’t even need to touch your body; you can simply hover in your energy field above specific areas or energy centres to which you feel drawn.

If you have a part of the plant in your hand you may be drawn to place this on a certain area of your body. Go with the flow and allow yourself to be guided.

If you are with the plant you may find that certain parts of your body want to be touched by the plant, or you may feel that simply being still in the plant’s energy field is enough.

Relax and focus on your breathing. Have your eyes open or closed. As you breathe in, visualize light coming to you from the plant and travelling throughout your entire body. As you exhale, allow yourself to breathe out the pain and suffering that you have been carrying. Keep breathing like this, allowing the plant to take and transform the pain that you are exhaling with your breath.

Allow your hands to move as you self-treat with reiki. If the plant is in your hand, stay open to moving it to places on your body that feel like they would benefit from its presence.

You may feel as you continue breathing in this way as though your energy field has merged with the plant’s. Relax and open further. Notice any sensations you feel in your hands or in your body, as well as any emotions.

Open your intuitive senses and allow yourself to open to the unconditional love of the universe and the vibrancy of nature.

Invite your guides into the space to assist you. Allow yourself to be intuitively led by reiki, your guides and by the plant itself. If it feels right to move and touch the plant then do so; otherwise you may relax at a distance from the plant and simply receive and experience the energy and the vibration.

You might find yourself intuitively scrunching up the plant in your hand to release its scent. don’t think your way, just follow where your body and spirit want to take you. Notice what parts of the plant seem to be calling out to you. Notice how you feel emotionally and physically as you connect with the plant.

Enjoy this experience for as long as you feel connected. I would recommend 20 to 30 minutes according to what feels right and what feels like it is calling to you.

If you find that your attention is wandering, especially with distractions from the outside world, then bring your focus back to your healing intention.
