Chapter Fifteen: Their Last Night

All good things came to an end, and this vacation had definitely been a good thing. Tomorrow, they'd be leaving St. John behind, and their final night was starting to close in on them.

"What time does your flight leave?" Derrick asked from the bathroom.

"Noon." She had already packed everything. The two of them had done just about everything the resort had to offer, although she had drawn the line at scuba diving. That terrified her too much.

"Mine's an hour later. We can ferry over together and you can keep me company until your flight leaves."

"What if I don't want to?" she teased, lounging on the bed.

"Then I'll stalk you and not give you a choice."

She giggled. Her body still felt sore. In the morning, they had sex. Sometimes in the afternoon. Often at night. They alternated which bed they slept in, although sometimes, there wasn't much sleeping at all.

"You won't be stalking me," she said more seriously.

"Because you want me around." His green eyes had a way of lightening his entire face. His teeth were impossibly white. She used to think only black guys could have teeth that white.

"Maybe."

"Have you—" His phone rang. Grimacing, he pulled it out of his tight jeans. "I have to take this. Excuse me." He stepped outside to the great outdoors.

She watched him as he walked a few paces. His backside was as fine to look at as his front. She needed to soak this all in. Tomorrow, she'd go back to her work, her life, and he'd return to making movies and all of the riches and fame—and women—that went along with it.

Sierra had no regrets. She wasn't a loose woman by any means, but this fling had been good for her. She needed to relax and have fun. Too much of her life was strict and orderly.

Her purse was on the floor by her feet, and she bent over to retrieve it. She had intended to get her phone, but her fingers found Francis Boyle's business card. Her. A model. What a joke. She was passingly pretty, but that was it. He was just being kind.

"What are you looking at?"

She jumped. She hadn't heard Derrick return to her room.

"Oh, this?" She waved the card. "It's nothing."

"Francis Boyle, huh? I didn't realize you were interested in modeling."

"I'm not. I don't know why I kept his card." She shoved it back into her purse. Actually, she did know why. He had flirted with her, and an agent wasn't quite as out of her league as an actor was.

But there had been no spark.

"He's—"

She threw herself at Derrick. She didn't want to talk about Francis or anyone. This would be the last time they could be together, for forever, and she wasn't going to let it be wasted.

Derrick pulled back and chuckled. "Someone's a little feisty."

"I thought you liked me naughty." She wiggled free from his grasp and darted out of the room. It was a shorter walk to the in-ground pool
