I keep sneaking glances over at Cass as I speed down the city streets toward her apartment.

Every moment I spend with her makes me like her even more. How that’s possible, I’m not sure. She’s smart, charming, and so fucking beautiful it hurts, but I also find her weird little quirks and the way she can’t control that mouth of hers sexy. She’s funny as hell, and the fact that she even had Lance eating out of the palm of her hand within two minutes of meeting him is a miracle.

I want more, though. I shouldn’t want that since we are working together, but I couldn’t care less. I also know she will try to stick me firmly in the friend zone because of that, but that’s not happening.

As I walk her up to her door, I have to fight to hold back my laughter as her eyes linger on my tattoos again. It seems my girl has a tattoo fetish.

My girl. When did I start thinking of her as mine? It doesn’t matter. She is mine whether she knows it yet or not.

When we arrive at her door, I bend down to kiss her cheek and let my lips linger a little longer than appropriate on her soft skin. Before I force myself to step away, I take a moment to inhale her vanilla scent that is driving me crazy.

“Good night, Cass,” I say as I finally move away from her.

She looks back down at my arm and actually lets out a sigh of appreciation when she says, “Good night, pretties.”

I’m almost positive she just told the ink on my sleeve good night. I chuckle quietly as I watch her walk into her apartment and shut the door behind her.

Yes, that quirky girl is mine, and I’m not going to let her get away.
