Self-control was something I lacked, but employed all my energy to obtain as I watched Black make her way through the tunnel that led to the exit. In those pants, her ass looked two times bigger, and all I wanted to do was plant my face in it. I could still taste her pussy on my top lip. She’d smeared it across that motherfucker like ChapStick, and now I needed the bottom lip serviced.

She tossed her head back in laughter, finding whatever Baisleigh was saying comical. Images of my dick sinking down her throat surfaced. She was a true eater. The best I’d ever experienced. The thought of another nigga’s balls rolling around her mouth had me tight and ready to shoot something.

“Nigga, you good?” Laike interrupted my thoughts to ask.

“Nah, nigga. The girl I was telling you about… that’s her.”

“The one you mentioned pulling up on?”

“Yes,” I confirmed, frustrated with his ass. “Had you been introduced us, then I could’ve been locked that shit down.”

“You said it yourself, she ’bout her paper and doesn’t want to be tied down.”

“Me either, but what other choice does a nigga have, fucking with her? All that other shit flies out the window at some point.”

“Man, you know what I’m gon’ tell you. Lock it in. Sometimes you’ve got to get grimy and gone ahead and trap ’em.”

“Nigga, I just had a seed. As much as I’d love to sit her ass down, that ain’t the answer.”

“Well, I don’t know what to tell you. It’s the quickest solution, in my opinion, but you’re scared to even utter the word baby.”

“’Cause they ain’t part of the plan, bro. Fuck that shit.”

“Then what is the plan?”

“I don’t have one yet. Until I figure it out, I’m staying in her mix and wearing her ass down until she gives in.”

“Just make sure your account up to standard because she’ll fuck around and put it in the negative.”

“Let me worry about my pockets, nigga. Just know them motherfuckers deep.”

We reached the exit where Baisleigh and Black continued their conversation. I witnessed them embrace, knowing what it signaled and easily concluding what was next. When Black turned and headed in the opposite direction with her long-ass weave swinging from side to side, I watched in awe until she nearly disappeared into the crowd.

“Close your mouth,” Laike suggested, pulling me back from the ledge I was on.

“I’ma be right back.”

Swiftly, I moved through the crowd, legs not stopping until I reached her. With a firm grip on her arm, I discontinued her movement and halted her progress. She turned to me, hesitantly, shaking her head from one side to the other.

“What?”

“Fix ya face, Black. And stop acting like you ain’t happy to see a nigga.”

“I’m ready for you to let it go and give it up, Lawe.”

“Can’t.”

“You really should. This”—she said, pointing between us—“won’t ever happen. The quicker you realize you’re chasing an impossible fantasy, the better you’ll be.”

“I ain’t buying that, Black. Not with the way the universe keeps sitting you in my path.
