Is this what the post was referring to? At first, she thought Meg wasn’t safe from racism. But now she’s wondering if it means her daughter isn’t safe from Wesley. Aki feels like she’s short of oxygen.

Ever cool, Ousmane turns to Aki with a genial expression. “Aki, have a good weekend. Please give Ian my best,” he says amiably. “Meg, as with baseball, there are only three strikes before the player is out,” he warns.

Meg merely sniffs and turns on her heel, leaving both adults in the foyer.

“Aki—” Ousmane starts before she cuts him off.

“I know, Ousmane. I know,” she says as he nods and turns to leave. Although Meg had gotten so angry at her when she had said it the day the graffiti had been discovered, Aki can’t help but think again, how do I protect my daughter from all of this? Then she thinks to herself, and what should I be protecting her from? She can’t decide if it’s Aaron, his parents, or the school, but she knows she’s the only thing that is probably able to protect Meg from her worst enemy, which appears right now to be herself.
