Rowena

After they made love, Rowena and Luke took a warm shower, where they gently washed each other. They dried each other off with warm, soft, thick bath towels, and then they went to bed.

“You know that no other woman has ever been in my bed. I’m not saying that I’m a virgin, because I’m not going to lie to you. But there has never been a woman that I wanted to actually bring into my bed -- especially to fall asleep with and wake up next to the next morning.”

Rowena knew that he was letting her know how much he cared about her. She wanted to tell him that she was in love with him. However, she still wanted to wait until the drama that governed her life was done with so that she could concentrate on just the two of them.

She loved it when Luke wrapped his arms around her, pulled her in tightly against him, and fell asleep. This was even better than making love, although the sex was incredible and amazing. However, just being held close to him created different, but more intense, feelings. Instead of a raging inferno burning inside of her, that died down after her release, his arms found the flames of a different kind of fire.

Rowena fought going to sleep as long as she possibly could, because she wanted to simply enjoy the feeling of his arms around her. However, the effects of the day’s activities had her worn out, and she was soon asleep.

Luke took her and Poseidon back to town the next morning, so she could hang out with Wanda and pick up some more supplies before Luke took her back to the oasis.

“You made caterpillars appear on that woman? I would’ve loved to see that,” Wanda said. “However, isn’t that kind of against your code of ethics or whatever that code is that witches have to follow?”

Rowena shrugged her shoulders and said, “I simply lost my temper. I do have those kinds of human tendencies as well. Especially when I am pushed. Have you not seen my red hair?”

They both laughed.

Then Rowena said, “She threatened me as she walked away, so I decided to treat her to a little bit of ice skating. Apparently, they were all out of practice and took a spill.”

Wanda shook her head and laughed.

Then Wanda asked, “What about you and Luke?”

Rowena said, “I’ll be honest with you. I have fallen in love with him. But I want to wait until the dust settles before I tell him.”

“Why?”

“Because then we will be able to work on our relationship without a death threat hanging over my head.”

Wanda nodded and said, “That makes perfect sense. How much longer do you have?”

“Eleven days, and they can’t come soon enough. I’ve heard that adage about not wishing your life away, but I think that we can make an exception in this case,” Rowena said.

“Considering the circumstances, I think that is perfectly reasonable,” she said.

A couple of customers came into the café, so Rowena said that she would go take care of her chores and come back later.
