Anna also feels a close affinity with the spirit of her grandfather Rudolph W. She senses his benevolent presence leading and guiding her in the Wicomico Street facility. From time to time, she says he gives her advice. Internally, she can hear his voice. It was he who advised her to incorporate some of the old with the new when she was reviewing graphic designs for candy packaging, which is why she chose little stars that appear on the ends of the wrapped candies. Those stars were part of the original Dolle’s candy packaging.

Her grandfather will also prod her to go home when she’s working late and encourage her when she’s overwhelmed. Anna senses his protective energy all around the store and the Dolle family.
