FIFTEEN

Lena

There wasn’t a day that went by where I wasn’t learning something new about the immortal stream. For instance, I’d just recently learned that there was a social media app. The mortal world had a lot, and they were all a little different, based on how you liked to interact. There were the many faces of book for interaction and cyberbullying. There was the graming-sinsta for primarily graphic based. There was bird chatter for… whatever they did there. And tumbling all over the place for other things.

Well, I wasn’t well versed in social media. It always annoyed me. But what I’m getting at is that the options were nearing limitless.

The immortal stream’s app, OwlLink, combined them all. You could turn on different modes, depending on how you wanted to interact that day. Just want to look at images? Cool. Become a keyboard warrior and feel all good about yourself? Yep, got that. Laugh at people’s reactions as they watch something for the first time in real time? It’s there. You can even take off the PG-13 rated settings and see some real fun. The immortal stream wasn’t full of prudes, by any means, and you were allowed to do what you wanted to do, as far as content was concerned.

I spent almost an entire day just playing with it. Why do I bring it up? Well, I jokingly asked how I could change my social status to ‘claimed by a demon’. Joke was on me, because that was an actual option in my relationship status. Not only that, but I wasn’t limited to designating myself in a relationship with a single person, like you are on the mortal ones. Those developers are poly-phobic.

Not only could I say I was claimed by my demon, but I could also say that I was in a relationship with three gods and a demon. All four of them. And I could even tag them, too, where they could confirm our status officially!

And here I thought the joined closets had made it official.

I enjoyed parading my Delete marks around when I went out of our room. I wore as little as I could so everyone could see them. And so, I could see them because they were fascinating. They didn’t really make any story logically, but I swear there was a language in it. Delete said there wasn’t. It was just something that meant ‘this one belongs to Delete, and he’ll rip your throat out if you touch her’.

I mean, there has to be a language in it to say all that, right? But I got the ‘at least you’re cute’ look from them all when I argued this.

Anyway, about that time, Deveus had moved on to research the symbols from the room in the temple and hunting for the Orla journals full time. Not as in this was a nine to five job but in that he was nearly solely looking for these symbols now.

I wasn’t convinced he really cared about what the temple room signified.
