9.1 Food

ON HOLY NIGHT WE DON'T eat that much; the real feast together with relatives is eaten on Christmas Day (December 25).

The traditional food is Christmas goose with dumplings and red cabbage. Usually, this is prepared for the whole family. A goose takes many hours in the oven until it’s ready. Many families also opt for a smaller duck instead of the goose.

9.2 Spices

THE TYPICAL CHRISTMAS spices that everyone attributes to Christmas are clove and cinnamon. There’s also plenty of sugar. You can smell the spices almost everywhere. They can be used in cookies, other sweets but also in drinks like Glüehwein.
