Chapter Seven

~Eliza~

The guys were all quiet when I returned to the kitchen and joined them. I knew something was up, but I ate my fill, trusting Gabe would tell me later. Which was why we now headed back to the pool house instead of the garage and my Jeep.

“Tell me everything,” I demanded as soon as we stepped inside his house.

“How do you feel about a mating ceremony?” Gabe asked.

I shrugged. “I hadn’t actually thought about it, yet. I mean…” I waved my hand back and forth between us. “We’re already mated, right? There’s no going back, ceremony or not. Right?”

He stepped into me, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me against him.

“We’re mated. Nothing changes that.”

“And you really want to talk about a mating ceremony now? With Cam still lingering around? When we don’t know what he…”

I broke off as everything connected in my brain.

“You’re planning to draw him out, using us as bait.”

I didn’t need his nod as confirmation. I felt the truth of it as soon as the thought entered my head. Still, he shook his head.

“Using me as bait.”

“No,” I denied.

“Yes,” he countered. “He’ll come for me because I took you from him. It’ll be a challenge he can’t ignore. When he does, we’ll be waiting for him.”

“A bloodbath isn’t really the mating ceremony a girl dreams of,” I scoffed.

“Not going to happen. We’ll wait until this is over. When you’re ready, we’ll plan our ceremony. We just want Lockhart to believe we’re planning it for a few days from now.”

“A few days from now?”

Gabe nodded then dropped a kiss on my lips. It was probably meant as a soothing touch, but it ignited a fire instead. We were still newly mated, and an insatiable desire for him remained unquenched inside me. I tore at his clothes, tugging his shirt up over his perfectly sculpted abs and chest, then leaned in to suck his nipple between my lips and teeth.

He growled, ripping off his shirt and tossing it aside before burying his hands in my hair and jerking the scrunchie free. He held me to him, moaning as I alternated between sucking and biting, moving over his chest with each teasing nip.

“Eliza.”

My name was a slurred drip of honey from his lips. A reminder of what I could have only with him. In his arms. With his shaft pumping inside me. I wanted it. Needed it as if it were the very air I needed to breathe.

I pushed away from him, tearing at my own clothes, tripping as I shoved at my pants before working on unlacing my boots. Gabe laughed as he stripped to the skin beside me. He went to his knees and helped with my boots then tumbled me down to the floor beside him. We pulled and tugged until I was as naked as he was.

“God, you’re beautiful.”

His voice was pure reverence. His hands pure possession. They owned me as they stroked over my skin, bringing every nerve screaming to life while pleasure flooded me.
