“Sirs, we’re going to land soon,” the flight attendant said softly.

Ian woke up, but Berkley was still asleep. “Thank ye,” he replied. He quietly packed up their phones and other small things they had sitting out, hoping Berkley would sleep through landing. Berkley had slept sitting up and with his seat belt on, “just in case.” There was no big hurry to get off the plane, Ian thought as he mentally went over their next steps. He already had a car booked, they just needed to walk over to the rental office once they collected their bags. He was looking forward to seeing his home country. It had been a while since he had come back to visit. He wanted to have haggis, blood sausage, some curry, and a good old full Scottish breakfast. Ian had booked a hotel room in Oban, which was about a three-hour drive. Tomorrow would hopefully be fun, as he had booked a surprise whiskey distillery tour at the Oban Distillery. He was thinking of adding the whiskey and chocolate event to their tour as well if they had the time. It was by far one of his favorites; the whiskey was smooth, not harsh, or too peaty. Ian planned on buying a few bottles and having them shipped home. He thought they stood a better chance of arriving in one piece if he didn’t pack them in his suitcase. He wanted to grab a bottle for his da’ as well.

As the plane bumped on the landing, Berkley woke up with a jolt. Ian grabbed his hand, sending calming vibes through their bond.

‘It’s alright. We’re just landing,’ Ian reassured him.

‘What time is it?’ Berkley asked, rubbing his eyes.

‘A little before six our time.’

‘The sun’s up already?’ Berkley asked.

‘It’s six at home but time change, remember? It’s eleven here,’ Ian responded.

“I thought we would get the car and head into Edinburgh for lunch. There’s a pub called The World’s End that used to have the best sticky toffee pudding. After we eat, we have about a three-hour drive, depending on traffic,” Ian added out loud.

“I didn’t know your parents were so close,” Berkley replied.

“Nope, no’ my parents’. I booked us an overnight. We’ll finish driving up to my parents’ tomorrow. I wanted to hae a fun night with ye and then I hae something planned for tomorrow afternoon. Then we’ll hae another couple hours of driving. We should get to my parents’ around dinner time, I would think.”

Berkley waited until the seat belt light turned off before standing. He needed a good stretch after sitting for so long. That was probably the best sleep he had had while flying. He was going to attribute it all to Ian being by his side. “Are you going to give me any clues?”

Ian hummed in thought. “I dinnae think so,” he replied with a grin, as he stood and gave Berkley a quick kiss. He turned off the airplane mode on his phone to send a quick text to Shaye, letting her know they had landed.
