CHAPTER 21: PARASITE

The room was hot, and I could see that no one wanted to say anything, not even him. I was sort of happy that, at least, the seer had not said anything like the other one, which included some secrets I wanted to keep out of anyone's reach.

The river finally breathed hard, and just like that, everyone's eyes were on him again, "This Witch, just how powerful is she?"

The seer laughed incredulously and my heart sank. This war was going to be bloody.

"She's the First Star after the moon and doesn't take any chances. She plans her movement with great care. Everything you have observed in your life now, she already knows it," He concluded, and we all looked at each other, feeling uncomfortable due to the sinister smile plastered on the seer's face.

"And without the Alpha and Chief Warrior's help, we are all doomed?" Ezra asked, and the seer nodded.

"Precisely. But in the legend, the female has always been the monster out of the twins, and the male has been like a sedative."

This caused all of us to look at him inquisitively and he smiled to himself, "Miss," He referred to me and I nodded instantly, giving him my full attention, "Has your wolf ever shown any extra strength or aura?"

I nodded at him, "Apart from the burns, I used to have the aura of an- an Alpha and then, something a bit eerie," I trailed off when I saw them gazing at me like I was answering a trick question in class. However, River seemed to be looking down at his lap, his expression confusing.

"Can you call out your wolf to show us what exactly this aura feels like?" They turned back to him like he was crazy, and I chuckled emotionlessly.

"You sure?" I asked and he shrugged in reply.

"Of course, Miss, you're in the presence of the five most powerful Alphas of the weres anyway."

I nodded to myself and closed my eyes suddenly, calling out to her. She didn't waste my time because before I knew it, in my head, her red wolf was in front of me. With her fur looking like she was in the water, she stared at me with those suspenseful red eyes that did not bother me.

"You're dripping with aura right now," She said, and I nodded, opening my eyes to look at them around the room. They all looked at me like they had seen a ghost.

"Your aura is becoming monstrous."

I turned to the seer and he looked at me with no fear in his eyes, "But you know why we should not be scared?" He continued and I kept looking at him with no reply, "Even with your eyes as red as blood, a certain somebody here can make them turn back to your warm brown ones."
