Abby

I was angry when I came in, but now I was furious. He’d just spent all this time at the buffet, filling plates and laughing and winking at me . . . when he knew it was all a scam. If he’d recorded our escapade, he’d probably already sent it off and his brother was likely already uploading it to the web. Goody-two-shoes Abby Sparks takes down the whole family with sexcapade in the elevator. Dammit. I was doomed. But there was no doubt about what he did to my sister.

And yet, here he was keeping up this ‘we’re having fun’ act. Was he looking to get a more damaging video of me, or did he intend to spring it on me once I’d gotten comfortable? And denying my sister the showcase, too! What an asshole. He was just as bad as—no, worse than his brother, Noah.

I crossed my arms over my chest. “You bastard.”

He blinked at me. “What are you . . .”

“How dare you? My sister?” I wanted to throw the video in his face too, but I admit I had no proof of this and I needed to get my hands on his phone first. If it was really there, I couldn’t let it get out. If I’d been smarter, I’d have seduced him out of it. Morgan could have done it, but now I was too angry to pull that off.

“I know you hate my family but to ruin her career? That showcase was everything to her!”

He sat there, mouth gaping, stunned.

“When will this feud end? I know you all hate us but to do that?”

“What . . .”

I shook my head. I didn’t care. Let him ruin my career too. I’d make it my life’s mission to take down the Drakes no matter what. “You’re not going to get away with it,” I muttered.

“I didn’t—”

Anger bubbled through me, and I stood. “I thought you were different. I thought . . .” It didn’t matter. He’d been playing me all along and I’d been some idiot. I picked up my cold coffee. “That’s only the beginning.”

His phone rang, and he turned it over, glancing at the screen. “Abby, I don’t know what happened, but we can fix this.”

“Fix this? There is nothing to fix.” I shook my head and threw my cold coffee in his smug face. I watched it drip down over his jaw and seep into the neck of his shirt.

He gaped at me.

Then I turned on my heel and marched away.
