1. Heat the oil in a large stockpot over medium-high heat, then add the carrots, onions, and garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables soften and begin to brown.

2. Add the broth, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cover and bring to a light boil, cooking for about 5 minutes, until the tomatoes are cooked. Add the pasta and kidney beans, cover, and cook for 5–10 minutes more, until the pasta is al dente. Stir in the green beans and heat through, about 1 minute. Serve hot.
