“I don’t get why we have to talk here.” I pout, walking up the front stairs of Psi Kappa Psi. This is the last place I want to have a conversation and with Micah, of all people.

“Everyone is out, so it’s the most likely place to not get interrupted.” He pretends this is all normal, but the reality is, it’s anything but.

He gives me the grand tour of the ostentatious space, ending with his bedroom.

“And this is where I lay my head every night,” he sheepishly tells me while opening the door.

I roll my eyes, walking in ahead of him. Micah is not shy. Whatever game he thinks he’s playing, he’s most certainly playing alone.

“Do not get any ideas here,” I snark at him, and he has the fucking nerve to laugh as he shuts the door.

“I wouldn’t dream of it.” He walks over to his dresser with a grin on his face. He pulls out an old t-shirt, appraises it, and then tosses it to me. “You can wear this.”

I sidestep to let the shirt fall to the ground. My arms cross in front of my chest as I raise one eyebrow at him.

“Not happening.” I shake my head. “This was a bad idea. I’m gonna go walk to my room.”

Micah stalks towards me, bending over to pick up the fallen shirt at my side. On his way up, the back of his hand glides ever so softly on my thigh, leaving icy tingles in its wake. I make an attempt to step away, but the bed greets the back of my knees.

Dammit.

He moves closer, placing two fingers underneath my chin, forcing me to look up at him.

“You’re not going to interrupt Taylor and Celeste tonight. But I need you to put a shirt on, Angel, so that I can focus. I guarantee you that my shirt is a hell of a lot longer than that goddamn skirt.” He leans over farther to breathe against my skin. “I’ve wanted nothing more than to pull up that fucking skirt and firmly grip that ass of yours all night.”

I’m sure he can hear my racing heartbeat as his words ignite my skin, which only encourages him to gently rub the tip of his nose down my neck.

“I will not do anything to you that you don’t want, but I need you to know that I want.”

He leans his body into mine to reveal just how ready he is.

My hands push against his chest. “Fine. Fine,” I concede, snatching the shirt out of his hands. “Just keep that thing away from me and grab me a pair of shorts or something.”

He chuckles as he does what I ask and points me to the en suite so that I can change without an audience.

I ignore my reflection in the bathroom mirror, desperately trying to calm my errant emotions, and quickly change out of my costume. It’s just one night, right?
