Brown Sugar Meatloaf
This is a great dish to make if you need to feed a large group of people. Best of all, it smells just as good as it tastes. It is easy to make so those with even the most novice of cooking skills can make this dish with ease.
Makes: 8 servings
Total Prep Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Ingredients:
• ½ cup of packed brown sugar
• ½ cup of ketchup
• 1 ½ pounds of lean ground beef
• ¾ cup of whole milk
• 2 eggs, large
• 1 ½ tsp. of salt
• ¼ tsp. of black pepper
• 1 onion, chopped
• ¼ tsp. of ground ginger
• ¾ cup of crushed saltine crackers
Directions:
1. First preheat the oven to 350 degrees. While the oven is heating up, grease a large loaf pan with cooking spray.
2. Once greased, press the packed brown sugar into the bottom of the loaf pan. Spread the ketchup over the brown sugar.
3. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, whole milk, large eggs, salt, black pepper, chopped onion, ground ginger, and crushed crackers. Place this mixture on top of the ketchup in the loaf pan.
4. Place into the oven to bake for 1 hour or until the juices begin to run clear.
5. Remove and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
