Christians in heaven are

celebrating the salvation

of sinners on earth.

Jesus said, “There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. . . . There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7, 10).

Notice that Jesus didn’t say angels rejoiced, though they probably do. He said rejoicing took place in heaven “in the presence of the angels,” indicating that Christians in heaven are celebrating the salvation of sinners on earth.

If citizens of heaven rejoice at the salvation of sinners, then they not only know what is taking place on earth in a general sense but are aware of specific choices individuals are making on earth—whether they have accepted or rejected Christ’s offer of salvation.
