Duckweeds, do not require, large, or powerful, equipment. Controlled environment, often gravity fed, provide much lower energy demands, in cultivation, and harvest activities. Traditional diesel fuel costs, present another variability to corn production. Reducing fuel requirements for starch production, gives Duckweeds another strong economic advantage, in competition with corn.
