Global governance

The State of the World Forum, in the fall of 1995, held its meeting at the Presidio in San Francisco attended by the who’s who of the world, including Margaret Thatcher, Maurice Strong, George H. W. Bush, and Mikhail Gorbachev. The term global governance was now being used instead of new world order.

A year later, the United Nations published a four hundred twenty–page report, Our Global Neighborhood, that laid out the plans for “global governance” in the years ahead.

The point is, it might be taking somewhat longer than first thought to achieve the “new world” dream that key world leaders have been working on behind the scenes for decades. But the trajectory has never been sharper than today. One has to be blind and deaf not to detect its forward motion in politics, social programs, and financial enterprises, as well as in religious confederations never thought possible a generation ago.
