Jesus, God’s Greatest Gift

JESUS gave us the Mass, our greatest prayer. For at Mass we pray with Christ. At Mass, with Christ, we experience a profound oneness with Him in this glorious act of praise. Here one falls in love with Christ.

St. Thomas Aquinas wrote of the Eucharist:

Godhead here in hiding, Whom I adore,

Masked by these bare shadows, shape, and nothing more,

See, Lord, at Thy service low lies here a heart,

Lost, all lost in wonder, at the God Thou art.

We do nothing in this world that is more important than going to Mass and being with Jesus and praying with Him.

At Mass, we pour out our hearts: God of our childhood, bless our parents who did everything for us. God of our youth, You saw us through turbulent times; bless our teachers and our friends. God of our maturity, You showed us about life and love. God of our old age, You taught us to pray. As our bodies decrease in strength, give strength to our souls.

At Mass, Christ gives us His choicest blessings. The Heart of Jesus is full of limitless love. When we open our hearts to Him, Jesus yields a torrent of graces.

Prayer

JESUS, You were taken prisoner to set us free. You were crowned with thorns to make us kings. We are grateful.

Have mercy on me, Jesus. You died on the Cross to give me life. Help me to serve You. Amen.
