“Of all the asinine, stupid, incredibly arrogant things he could have said, that took the cake!” Jeanine swore as she slammed her car door and headed for the front door her hands filled with parcels.

First, he had shown up after a week without so much as a by-your-leave and Then he had proceeded to take her right there on the hotel bed within two seconds of walking in as though it were his right— never mind that she had been almost sobbing with need— and Then he had had the unmitigated gall to announce that she belonged to him!

Where did he get off with that sort of archaic and unapologetic Neanderthal thinking?

She had shoved him off of her, gotten dressed in a matter of seconds, and stomped out of the hotel room — her hotel room, mind— leaving him reclining on the bed as though he hadn’t just scared her silly and as though he owned the damned place. It hadn’t occurred to her to wonder how he knew exactly where to find her until she had reached the desk to check in and the receptionist had a hard time meeting her gaze.

She was so angry right now she could have skinned him alive with a skewer and relished every moment! Bo had to be the most unromantic man alive, she decided because the two times she’d had a roll in the hay with him, he’d either said or done the wrong thing immediately after. The first time he had disappeared for a week and the second time he had announced that she belonged to him!

She was furious with him but more so with herself. What was her problem? He was a beast!

That line of thought prodded a memory and she gasped, her eyes widening in terror as she recalled that dim memory of just before she had passed out after they had made love the first time. He had started to change in appearance, almost as though he had become half-man and half-beast.

Great Jeanine, her subconscious chuckled. That dick of his must have gone all the way past your womb and shifted your brain too!

Jeanine laughed at herself, but the sound was a bit forced. “You’re right of course. What was I thinking? It must have been a dream. Can you blame me? He fucked me so thoroughly and so many times I probably dozed off from sheer exhaustion before he was done.”

But that did not give him any excuse for acting the way he had. One minute he had ignored her so completely and left her a raving mass of sexual desire until she had been one step away from fucking a cucumber or anything else in sight. Then he had showed up out of the blue, to what? Stake his claim?

“Fuck him,” she cursed as she slammed her way into her home.

Yeah, you already did that, her unsympathetic inner voice sang cheerily.

“Shut up!” Jeanine snapped. And then she wished she hadn’t as the two women in the living room snapped identical faces around to stare at her.
