Colin first rang Cathy to let her know they’d arrived safe and sound, then they set about getting the rest of the jeep unpacked, which included mysterious bags and boxes concealing Christmas gifts, which they secreted away from each other, before they reconvened in the kitchen to put away the few grocery staples they’d brought with them.

But for the most part the cupboards were bare and the refrigerator most definitely was, Cathy and Stephen having cleaned it out of perishables after their visit in October. A trip to the market in the village would be in order tomorrow morning.

As if on cue, Liam’s stomach rumbled.

Colin rolled his eyes. “Well we definitely haven’t got enough in to feed the likes of you. Shall we head into Dunsbrook for supper?”

“Enzo’s?” Liam asked hopefully.

“Where else?” Colin grinned, snatching up his keys, already looking forward to delicious food and seeing his long-time friend, who he had a very specific question for.
