Chapter Seventeen

The next morning, she was asked to go back to Nelly’s department to help out. Jade did her best to follow Nelly’s instructions but realized after a while that there was an easier way to do what was being asked of her.

With her shortcut, she got all the files done and was pretty impressed with how well they turned out. She might not be too familiar with the program Nelly used, but she’d asked for it to be added to her computer several days ago and had been playing around with it.

Since she’d made herself familiar with where everything was, it had been easier for her to be able to get the work Nelly needed done. And she’d been able to do a better job, creating accurate files and formatting what was needed. She was impressed with herself and was happy to send the files to Nelly’s computer way before they were due. Nelly was in an art meeting with her seniors so she didn’t get a chance to see her reaction, but she hoped she liked the work.

Jade had just gotten back to her desk when she got a call from Lana.

“Jade, darling. How are you feeling?”

Jade grinned at the other woman’s sweet tone. “I’m much better. I think it was just a bug. Or stress. Lord knows I’ve had enough of that on my plate.”

“Well, I’m so glad you’re doing better. And how are things with you and Dean and Gavin?”

She blushed even though she knew the other woman couldn’t see her. Damn embarrassment. “Um, pretty good. We’re getting to know each other.”

No way in hell was she going to tell her that her gorgeous son, Dean, with a cock that should win awards and a tongue that could make a woman orgasm to death, was making her fall in love with him with every second that passed. Nor was she going to admit that Gavin, with his serious dick game, sweet and thoughtful nature, and unbelievable romantic sense, really had her ready to marry both men. Nope. Lana did not need to know that.

“I’m so glad. I’m really happy you’re giving my boys a chance. I’m actually calling because I was hoping you’d want to join me for dinner Friday.”

“It’s my cousin Balgair’s birthday and he’s having a girls’ bash. Would you mind joining me and hanging out? Knowing him, it’s going to be catered by Martha Stewart herself. He’s the sweetest guy with the best taste.” She did a full circle on her office chair and stopped when she noticed two people staring at her. “So, yeah. Just the girls. What do you say?”

“I would love to join you if that’s no problem with your cousin.”

“Are you kidding? He loves girls’ night. He hates large groups but it’s his day and he’s excited to have a whole pampering and fun session at his house.”

“Wonderful. Email me the details. Can’t wait to see you again, darling.”

“Same, Lana. Thanks for calling.”

She’d just pressed the end call button when she noticed someone standing at her desk.
