CONCLUSION

That God is a maker of beautiful things is, as I suggested at the outset, a master idea of Christian revelation. In its light, we understand God himself as a radiant play of wholeness and harmony; we see creation in its entirety across space and time as a rose window or, more dynamically, as a bustling household or a marching army; we perceive good and evil in their endlessly complex mutuality and relativity; and we grasp a new teleology in regard to ethics and politics. In contemplating this idea, we gaze with admiration at the one whose intelligent and artistic gaze is bringing the cosmos into integritas, consonantia, and claritas.
