RAPHAEL LATHERED HIMSELF from head to toe, giving a bit of extra attention to the undercarriage, just in case, plus heâd been sitting all day in the truck with leather seats. It was a sorry excuse to scrub his balls extra hard when what he was really hoping for was a bit of popsicle action from lady. Laughing at himself, he added shampoo to his hair, rinsed twice, then a handful of conditioner. He considered himself lucky to have gotten a good deal of his motherâs Hispanic genes. The thick black hair didnât appear to be thinning anywhere and for that he was grateful. After a full rinse of his body and a final rinse of his hair, he toweled dry. A smaller hand towel was used on his hair while the bath sheet draped about his waist.
He could barely see the bedroom as anxious hands briskly ran the towel over his scalp and hair to remove any excess moisture. Very seldom did he go to bed with a wet head, but tonight, emotionally, mentally, and physically, heâd hit a wall. In the morning, he expected to have a better perspective. The cat with the hat. The dog with the necktie. Dusty having a boyfriend. That lambchop. The chocolate cake.
âI want some damned chocolate,â he mumbled, nearly pouting.
All the thoughts floating through his head stopped when he noticed the covers on the bed were turned down. The bed had been fully made when he went to take a shower, and now the king-size bed covers were turned down to the foot, revealing the sheets as if two people were about to tear up the bed. The towel on his head came off in his hand as he looked about the room to find Willow, sitting in the corner in a revealing negligee, her deep brown nipples erect. He could see the dark hair covering her womanhood in the light, and he swallowed hard. Instead of addressing the situation right away, he stepped into his bathroom and pulled on a bathrobe over the towel, tying it at the waist.
âBefore you say anything and tell me all the reasons you canât or wonât, Iâm going to tell you that I donât care,â Willow started.
âWillow,â he said, walking to the door to open it for her to leave, âyou donât owe me your body in repayment for what I have done.â
âIâm not offering you my body as a repayment for anything. Iâm asking to be with you as your woman,â she said, getting to her feet. âRaphael, I know men with less than half of what you have here that would have taken advantage the first night, not only of me, but of Dusty and possibly Karli. That is not you. Your heart is right. Your eyes hold a darkness behind them, but the truth of your heart overcomes all those things.â
âAnd Iâm not going to be an asshole and take advantage of this situation,â he said, gripping the handle of the door.
