LISTENING

We often pray with the expectation that God will quickly solve all our problems. And when he doesn’t, it is tempting to assume he isn’t listening. Just because God isn’t answering your prayers right now doesn’t mean he isn’t listening. Maybe one of the most loving things God can do for you in this season of waiting is to sit beside you and listen to your heart. We all have had times in our lives when it feels like our prayers just hit the ceiling. However, God tells us repeatedly in his Word that he always listens to us. If you are doubting whether God hears you, remind yourself of these promises. Trust that he is loving you well by offering you his open ears whenever you need to talk. Remember that there are times when God’s listening is far more significant than anything else he could be doing because through your conversations with him, you are becoming the person he wants you to be.
