Two days later.

I’d been out in Texas for two days, working with Shamar and doing press, while Joaquin was back home, doing what he did. The director was doing a shoot on location with a few of us, and I’d been trying to get in touch with Joaquin for the longest time. Madelyn kept me updated about the kids, but Joaquin hadn’t come up late at night and left early in the morning. Some women would think he was cheating, but I knew my husband. Dating another woman would never enter his mind.

“All right, we're almost losing the light. Get this shot!” the director called out.

The makeup artist touched up my lipstick and held the small fan up to get air while we were outside the trailers, preparing to film. I read over my lines one more time, passed them back to the assistant, and stepped on the gravel near Shamar.

“So this scene is you stopping him from leaving,” the director said.

“Should I be on the side of him, or do you want more of his face?”

“We can try both angles.”

Shamar leaned back on the car door, and I placed my hands on my hips, moving my head left to right. I closed my eyes to drown out the noise of the world.

“Action!”

“Listen to me, if you leave now, our relationship won’t mean a thing.”

“Stop lying to yourself!” he shouted.

“So that’s it… just forget about the nights we’ve spent together.” I pushed my hand on his chest.

“Sorry, I need to go.” He turned and went to open the driver’s side.

“Cut!” the director shouted.

“Should we do one more take?”

“We can break for five and then come back.”

Shamar grabbed the robe from the assistants, and we walked to our trailers. Cassidy passed me a bottle of water and the fan as I turned the knob of the trailer, stepping up the stairs to sit under the air.

“Have you heard from Hugo?”

“Yeah, anything from Joaquin?” Cassidy questioned.

I shook my head.

“No.”

“He’s probably doing what he does.”

“That’s what I fear.”

“Give him time, Sofia.”

“I miss my babies.”

“We won’t be much longer, and you’ll fly back soon.”

“Can you get the interviews in one day?”

“Let me see, and I’ll talk to them about doing something closer to the premiere.”

“I just have a bad feeling with everything going on.”

“Any word from Alessandra?”

“Her mother called and told us she made it all right, and Gael should be on his way back.”

“I'm still surprised so much has gone down, and we're alive to speak.”

“No fear in marrying Hugo.”

“A lot of fear, but I love him too much.”

“I understand, and the only advice I can give is to be intentional with every moment.”

“We have too much going good to be down right now.”

“How are the numbers looking?”

Cassidy turned the computer around.

“Well, after the uproar with the studio trying to cut you from the movie, your social presence has increased.”

“Really?”

“Yes, women especially are rooting for you.”

“The magazine.”

“The sales are through the roof, and they’re even thinking of a second shoot.”

“No more photos of my kids though.
