While James rifles through our tool case, in search of something to break down the door or windows, I dress in his too-large hoodie and track pants. I roll the waistband a few times to make them more secure.

I don’t know where my clothes are, but I have a feeling they didn’t just magically disappear. We’re all having a hard time looking at each other this morning, all except Connor. They’re talking about their dreams being vividly detailed last night, and I would’ve thought so too if my thighs weren’t soaked in cum, and my vagina throbbing with sharp pain.

I was defiled by Connor, and something else entirely inconceivable.

Connor was also defiled last night. I know it.

My hand slaps over my mouth as a sob works its way up my throat. My bladder is screaming for release, and I don’t want to seek out a bathroom alone in this creepy place.

“James?” I call out after taking in a deep breath and lowering my hand back down to wrap around my waist.

“Yeah?” he answers, something heavy hitting the floor before he appears around the corner, his eyes filled with worry.

“Could you come with me to find a bathroom?”

“Oh,” he says, his throat working on a swallow. “There’s one on this floor. Obviously, it’s not flushing or anything, but it’s not disgusting. Unless you need to do a number two, in that case, we might have to think of—”

“Just number one,” I cut him off with a small smile as I grab up my tissue pack. “Thankfully.”

He leads me to a door just beyond the receptionist’s desk, my eyes lingering on the dark, wood surface as we pass. There’s something about that area and its lure over me. I want to sit in the chair, wipe the dust off the receiver-less rotary phone, and open up the romance novel stashed in the bottom right drawer. The familiarity I have with the desk is jarring. James opens the door and I peer inside, finding a fairly clean room.

“Thank you,” I whisper as I step in.

“I’ll wait out here,” he replies as I shut the door.

There are two small stalls, so I head to the one next to the wall and surprisingly find there’s a clean toilet. It has no water, obviously, but the bowl is fairly clean, save for the layer of dust coating every surface. I do my business and wince as more pain radiates from between my legs. It’s a familiar ache, one I’ve dealt with for most of my adolescence. I never thought this pain would ever happen again.

I was raped last night.

I know it’s the truth. I just don’t know how it happened, or the entire story, but I do know the guys don’t remember anything, or if they do, they think it to be remnants of a dream.

Maybe that’s how Conroy wanted it. He wanted me to remember what happened in some sick way of keeping him in my mind.

I choke on a sob as I wipe myself, the pain intensifying with the action.
