Before leaves emerge in

branches are

literally

covered with

bright pink

buds, which just happen to be

edible!

unsatisfying. Perhaps a different climate produces a more tender pod. They’re edible, certainly, but are they worth it? Depends on what else you have to eat. The pods definitely don’t live up to my standards of deliciousness.
