Another day, and another destination - the Memphis Belle arrived overhead the Harlingen Army Air Field with an airborne escort of AT-6 Texan trainers to participate in their ‘Buy a Fighter Plane’ drive. Amongst the reception committee on the ground was Colonel John R. Morgan, Commanding Officer of the field.

After arrival the crew toured the airfield and Sub Depot, making addresses to the employees there. The aircraft meanwhile was parked just inside the South Gate on Rio Hondo Road, with a special walkway and platform constructed over one wing so as to allow the public to see through the aircraft windows and was on display until sundown both days. That evening there was an all-Army talent show given by HAAF entertainers at the Fair Park Auditorium during which the crew appeared on stage.
