This LAV-R is fitted with a rotating hydraulic crane capable of lifting a 6,000lbs maximum load and a rear-mounted winch with a maximum pull capacity of 30,000lbs. The vehicle’s crew consists of three men: driver, vehicle commander and rigger. A welding generator and associated equipment is carried inside the rear hull compartment. (DOD)

Looking very much like the LAV-L is this variant labelled as the LAV-C2 (Battalion Command and Control Vehicle). Like the LAV-L, the rear hull compartment has been raised. Unlike the LAV-L, the LAV-C2 has two cupolas: one directly behind the driver for the vehicle commander and the second for the battalion commander on the forward portion of the raised rear hull compartment.
