WAITING IN HOPE

We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

PRAYER

Lord, often it just seems as if the world is moving away from you and in the wrong direction. As I get older, it is easy to become cynical and to believe that hope is a childish concept. Yet I am told to hope in you (Psalm 130:7). You entered the world to be with and to give reason for hope to your people. I am confident that you can and will make the world a better place. If to have hope is to be a child, then let me be your child. Give me the confidence to place my hope in you.
