Chapter 11

“Yes,” Jason says. “You brought grub.” He grabs the bags off the table.

“Has he said anything?” I ask, nodding toward Murphy who’s chained and shackled to a metal chair.

“He hasn’t said a word.”

I walk over to him, looking at him square in his silver eyes, and all I see is the blood of my family.

“You’re gonna tell me how to take out Brock and his clan.”

He rears his head back and spits, prompting me to load back my elbow, landing my fist in the center of his jaw. I hit him so hard that the chair flies backward.

“Tell me how to get into the territory.”

“Fuck you!”

I hurl my boot into his ribs, crushing the bone.

“What weapons do they have?”

“You had my entire pack killed. I owe you nothing,” he barks.

“Do it,” I order Jason.

The Enforcer reaches for the tray of tools, grabs the rusty pliers, sitting on top of the man, and Murphy screams as Jason rips out his canines. He howls, snarling.

“Where’s Brock getting these bullets?”

“It doesn’t matter,” he says, peeling back Murphy’s claws one at a time.

This kind of work doesn’t make me happy. I’d rather receive answers and kill the man to get it over with. But Murphy’s not making this easy.

“He’s useless to us,” Jason starts. “Let’s filet him,” he growls.

“He’ll talk.”

“Just give Brock the girl. She’s just a nasty breeder whore.”

“How’d you hook up with his clan?”

“Go to hell.”

“I know what you’re thinking.” I roll my neck. “You’re thinking if you give me information, I won’t need you anymore, and I’ll kill you. Well, here’s the thing about that. I’m going to kill you anyway. You’re going to die for what happened to my parents whether I get what I want or not.”

“Then do it if you think you’re big enough.”

“You know that I am.”

He swallows hard, and he knows that I can kill him in an instant. But it’s not going to be that quick.

I leave him alone with Jason to have him some fun, and I head home to shower and get ready for a lucrative meeting.

“Hey, Stella.”

“Sir, your meeting is already in the conference room.”

“Thanks, can you bring in some fresh coffee?”

“Sure,” she says with a soft smile.

I walk into the room and the men stand to their feet, and we exchange handshakes.

“Thanks for coming in today, gentlemen.”

“We have a lot to cover,” John says.

“It’s fairly basic. I’ve got 242 head of cattle. 122 Hereford and 120 Black Angus. I thought we could work out something among us here and separate out the herds.”

“Can I ask why you’re getting rid of such fine cattle?”

I don’t get into the fact that I can’t take care of them right now with the mutilations. So, I go with the next truthful answer.

“The clan needs cash flow coming in. Baz decimated the members’ finances.”

“And you’re selling off your own herds to pay for his shit?”

“I can always start over. This is my responsibility as Alpha.”

“Well,” John nods. “It’s commendable. I’ll say that.”

“I’m not looking for accolades, I’m just wanting to make it right.
