Chapter Six

Anika’s phone pinged with incoming text messages from the group chat she, Solai and Tesh were in. While they were in Kansas City enjoying the holiday, Anika had decided to accompany Lano on his trip to California. Though she had her reservations about meeting his family, they had shown her nothing but love the first time they flew down together. Today was different, though. It was a holiday, and for all the millions of cousins, aunties, uncles, and extended family she didn’t meet the first trip; she’d have the pleasure of meeting them during her stay.

Solai: What his cousins look like? I know they fine.

Tesh: That’s gross, Lai. You’re like his family.

Solai: Shit. We are not related by blood. Juvie somehow got adopted by Sen on the under, so that doesn’t count either. Lmao. Ain’t that right, Nik?

Anika: Girl, hell no. Lano been having his eyes trained on me like a hawk. His older cousin Tone fine ass fuck, though. Look just like him but older.

“Who got you over there smirking?” Lano questioned making Anika’s head pop up from the screen. Quickly locking the screen, she slid it into her purse.

“The girls. They’re sending me pictures of all the kids.”

Lano peeped the sad look on her face and leaned forward to get closer into her space. He asked her to slide with him to his hometown but never demanded her to tag along.

“What you looking all sad for? You ain’t trying to be here?”

She shook her head from side to side. “I never said I wasn’t trying to be here with you. I’ve just never missed a Christmas with my family is all.”

Lano smirked. “So, I ain’t your family now?”

Anika gave him a smirk back. “You know you are, Papi. Don’t be that way.”

Smooching his lips, Lano grabbed her by the back of the neck before slipping his tongue into her mouth. A sharp breath was pushed through her nostrils as her frame melted into his. Lano had a way with words, but it was when he didn’t say a damn thing that had Anika shuttering and losing her mind.

“Nah. You don’t be that way. Come up here and fix me a plate with your fine ass,” he ordered when their lip locking session ended.

Anika’s head cocked to the side. “Please, nigga?”

“Please, bae? I’ll suck on that pussy til’ you cry later on.”

Hopping up, Anika grabbed her purse from the couch so fast Lano bust out laughing. He didn’t have to say shit else.

“You a trip, man. Let me find out you using me for sex.”

“It wouldn’t be the first time,” she smirked, and he slapped her on the ass as they made their way up the steps of his grandmother’s basement.

Though their relationship started out as them just having casual, nasty ass sex, Lano was putting the pipe down for more than him just to get a nut off. He wanted Anika’s mind, soul, and body last. Her slick tongue, witty attitude and sense of humor are what attracted him to her.
