I AM LAUNCHING OUT INTO THE DEEP!

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch” (Luke 5:4).

Today’s Bible Reading: Luke 5:1-39

Oh, there is so much I want to do! Do you ever feel that way? I do. So many things I want to do—so many opportunities to do remarkable things for the Lord, for my family and friends.

But is the word that seems to keep us from doing and being all the Lord has called us to be. And the but is self-imposed for most of us.

“I would love to write a book—but…” “I would love to help out children in Israel or Haiti—but…” “I would love to lay hands on the sick and see them healed—but…” “It would be great to get out of debt and pay off the mortgage—but…”

I believe the Lord is talking to believers all over the world at this time to “launch out into the deep”—into the deep things of God, and into doing and believing God for things others may consider risky, wild, or even foolish. Perhaps “it’s never been done before” and “it’s never been done that way before” have stopped more miracles than we’ll ever know.

Launch out into the deep! What is God calling you to do? What is your heart’s desire—not only for yourself, but for your family, your church, your community? Name a few things that, if you were to ask God to help you do, He could do through you and He would receive all the glory:

What’s stopping you? Is it bigger than God? Maybe the reason you have not been successful in achieving your heart’s desire is because you’ve been casting your net (and your vision) into shallow waters. Think bigger. Ask the Lord to show you His plan for you. His plan is always greater than anything you could possibly do on your own. Launch out into the deep!
