THE LORD IS NEAR

The young woman never felt good enough. Overpowering waves of depression crashed against her, and she struggled to keep her head above water. Then she heard the Holy Spirit say to her, “God is as near to you as your breath.” She called out of her despair, and the Sovereign Lord quieted the voice of self-condemnation and helped her remove the worn-out garment of shame. From the days of her earliest remembrance the Lord was present to lift her up, and He gave her the courage to set her face like flint to seek the God who loves unconditionally. Our God is greater than the depression that tries to hold you in bondage. He will never leave you or forsake you or leave you without support.
