DAY EIGHTEEN

The great painter and sculptor Michelangelo came across a block of marble. He looked at the square block and said he saw an angel inside, waiting to get out. He began the chiseling process.

In the same way, God is at work in us. We are His workmanship.

You are His workmanship, and you are a masterpiece. Things may not be perfect in your life right now, but life is a process. God loves you so much that He is not giving up on you. He will continue to chisel and carve away what doesn’t need to be there, and when He reveals who you truly are in Him, you will be amazed. Don’t fight the process of personal and spiritual growth. You are worth the work.

Gracious Lord, before You even made me, You knew why You were creating me. You have a purpose and a plan for my life that will bring good to me, good to others, and glory to You. I want to live out that purpose, so I ask for You to empower me to overcome this addiction and anything else that is standing in my way of fully maximizing my potential in Christ. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Scriptural Truth

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them (Psalm 139:16).

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

You were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19).

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27).

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life (Job 33:4).
