Go to your library or local bookstore and you will find books filled with hundreds of painting techniques. Here are a few of my favorites.

You should still have two unpainted sections, each measuring 2” x 5”, on your paper. Turn your paper so that the long side is horizontal. In one of the 2” x 5” sections, paint an area with Hookers Green Light paint. Sprinkle salt on the paint while it is still wet. Do not disturb the salt until the paint is dry. Gently brush the salt off of the paper. This technique can be used to illustrate texture and special effects in a painting, as seen in Illustration 14 below.
