STEP 5: ADMIT YOUR INABILITY TO FORSAKE SIN

Blessed are the poor in spirit

For theirs is the kingdom of God. Matthew 5:3

Now we come to the daily practical way in which we can overcome pornography. After you have confessed and have been cleansed, God wants you to forsake the sin. This is a very important phase, where you have to remember you repentance and bear fruit in keeping with repentance.

Jesus has given certain steps which we must execute in order to overcome porn. The first of these is to accept our inability to forsake sin owing to our spiritual poverty. We are impoverished and malnourished spiritually and lack the spiritual strength in ourselves to overome any sin. Admit your inability to God and humble yourself everytime you go to the internet. Before you start browsing, remind yourself that you have repented and have decided not to indulge in pornography. You are no more guilty of your past sins because Christ has dealt with them on the cross. But, you are spiritually poor in yourself and lack the spiritual strength to follow up with your commitment. Confess this inability.
