Chapter 20:
Honeymoon Period
Bethany had purposely chosen an out of the way no-tell motel to do the nasty.
As they paid for the room, she noticed a sign on the front desk sign informing guests that the motel is no longer affiliated with the Red Roof Inn chain. They apologized for any inconvenience this would cause. âSeriously?â she said to James. âHow many corpses do you need to find stuffed under the mattress before you lose the coveted Red Roof Inn seal of approval?â
They walked from the check in window to their room, it became apparent that the room rates werenât the only cheap thing. They could hear sex, arguments and television programs as they passed in front of each room rooms. They were not quite sure what would happen post coitus, but they hoped it would not be loud. They arrived at room 51, the roomâs front door was barely two feet from the parking lot
James took care not to harm her as he strapped her wrists and ankles to the bed frame. They used thin rubber hoses, popular with junkies to tie themselves off before injection, as the restraint of choice. They felt the rubber would have the most âgiveâ while still restraining Bethany once she began the change.
He did not want to use rope or handcuffs for fear her convulsions and escape attempts would damage her beautiful skin or break her bones. She lay there naked except for an oversized t-shirt, fully restrained, arms and legs akimbo. Under normal circumstances, this would be hot. The cheap, sleazy hotel, a stunningly beautiful woman who not only was consensual to the restraints, but demanding of them, were all the plot points of a memorable night, but as she said earlier, this had nothing to do with passion.
He held up a ball gag, used in S&M practice. She winced. âLetâs hold off on that one for now,â she asked. He did not argue and tossed it into the nightstand drawer. If nothing else, the next room guest who finds it can get adventurous.
James mounted her.
She had a fleeting memory of the previous hook up and what followed. It was just like remembering a dream upon waking up. Quick flashes of scenes imagined flittering away. What were so vivid moments earlier, dissipated like vapor.
And then it was over.
Neither of them would ever recall his encounter as a good lay. It is said that bad sex can become mechanical. This was worse, this was medicinal.
James sat in the cheap upholstered chair across from the still bound Bethany.
He puffed nervously on a cigarette.
âThose things will probably kill you,â she said referring to the cancer stick.
âYou will probably kill me,â he replied trying to lighten the mood.
âDo you feel anything?â she asked.
âNot yet, do you?â
âNothing yet.â she said pensively.
âHow long did it take with the other guy?â James asked.
âIt was quick.â she recalled with uncertainty. âI mean I remember the sex, and I remember laying there next to him, and then it gets a little hazy. Once I came too, he wasâ¦well, you know.
