Chapter 5

Ian leaned his head back on the couch and closed his eyes. This was just too much, how in the hell would he ever explain to his parents that he was leaving the Human Stratum, moving to the Wizard one. Oh, by the way, I found this guy who is the King Wizard, and he is my mate, so I have to go with him or he will go butt ass crazy. Hmmm, yeah that was gonna work. They would totally put him in a loony bin. Maybe that is where the fuck he belongs! He was seriously losing it. That travel thing messed with him.

He had no clue what he was going to do. Ian felt Blake sit next to him, and he opened one of his eyes and watched him for a second. The rooms they had retired to were totally amazing. The living room they sat in was huge, larger than he would have thought.

The whole place looked like it held dark cherry wood floors, and in the living area, it held plush black leather furniture with deep green pillows. Two couches, a love seat, and two recliners were arranged perfectly to give anyone who sat in them the ability to see the rest of the room. The large windows led to what looked to be a balcony, but Ian couldn’t see because of the sheers. The heavy drapes that were pulled to the side looked like they were green to match the pillows. There were large curio cases that held different memorabilia, which he had not had a chance to actually look at. There were tables that were the same dark cherry wood and bookcases flanking the huge fireplace, which was the centerpiece. It was all rock and fit perfectly in the masculine room. He wondered what the rest of the place looked like. There was not a kitchen to speak of from what he could tell. Although, there was a long hallway that looked like it led to several more rooms.

There was a large television-like screen hanging on the wall and was turned on low playing soft music. Classical, the man never ceased to amaze him. Ian would have thought the man to be more of a hard-rock type from the looks of him. “I am sorry,” Blake whispered. “Wait, I am not sorry about us being mates. I am sorry that things are all fucked up. I will do what I have to in order to help make this right.”

Ian closed his eyes again, not quite sure what to make of this whole thing. He had to believe the evidence, which was the way he was made. Logan had given him plenty. There was little doubt that he was actually in a different Stratum of existence. He had so many questions running around his head, it was hard to keep them straight. Should he start asking them now, or did he wait?

“I know you have a lot of questions, and I understand that you need time.
