Chapter 7

Fiona and Susan agreed to confront him when he got home that night. Both of them were nervous about this, since it would mean the truth would be revealed. Would John be honest? Or would he continue this streak of being a dick? Susan didn’t know, but she did fear what he might say.

They heard the door open, with John shuffling in. It was nearly 1 am, and Susan could feel the anger boiling in her body. When John turned on the lights, he saw not only Susan there, but Fiona as well. Susan looked at him with a look of pure rage, and of course, Fiona looked at him with somber eyes.

“What’s going on here?” he said.

“John, we’re here to talk to you,” Susan said.

“Y-yeah,” Fiona replied.

He immediately wet on the defensive.

“What the hell are you talking about?” he said.

“It’s about what you’ve been doing. You’ve been a distant asshole to Fiona, and your little girlfriend came over earlier looking for you like a lost puppy,” Susan said.

“Y-yeah. She came here,” Fiona said.

John’s eyes were filled with both fear, and rage. He didn’t like this. He didn’t like being called out, and Susan felt a strange sense of pride at cussing out her brother for everything.

“Why does it matter? Why the fuck do both of you care,” he said.

“Because we know what you’ve been doing John. We both know,” Susan said.

He looked at Fiona with surprise.

“even you? He said.

“Yeah. Even me,” she replied.

The look of both rage and fear in his eyes said everything. Susan would’ve felt bad had it not been for the fact that he deserved all of this. Susan felt like her brother deserved all of the bullshit he was about to get for doing this.

“You both didn’t—”

“Yes, we fucking did John. We both talked about this. I told Fiona the truth. She discovered this on her own, but right now, it’s not about how we found out, it’s about what’ll happen next,” Susan said.

“Yeah John. I can’t sit here and do this. I know you’ll probably suggest an open relationship or something but…I don’t want that,” Fiona said.

His eyes widened like a deer in headlights.

“So, what then? What are you going to do? Ask me to make a choice?” he muttered.

“That’s exactly what we plan on doing John,” Susan said with a snarky tone. She didn’t like the irresponsibility of this little shit. Fiona seemed to be getting tired of it too.

“Well, what answer do you want me to give? That I’m going to magically go with Fiona or something?” he said.

“Well, I’m going to ask you one thing John. And if you attack me again, I’m going to call the cops. I want you to be honest right now John. I know that you’re trying to hide because you were caught, but I’m not going to sit here and take this. I’m tired of you hurting Fiona, who is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I’m tired of you being a dick to her when in truth you’re just trying to hide your hurtful actions,” Susan said.
