Holy to the Hindu, India’s cows have got it much better than their American cousins. Instead of worrying about the day they’ll become burgers, Indian cattle stroll around unmolested and block traffic for hours without much complaint from the humans. I once sat in a restaurant and watched as a cow climbed the stairs and began eating the food off another patron’s plate (holy cow!). The trade-off to the good life for cattle is having to get painted in silly designs and the occasional local Muslim giving you a swift kick when the Hindus aren’t looking.
