What Types of Shelter Can You Make?

There are several types of shelters that you can build. Some are easier to make than others. They include the following:

Lean To Tents

You need two trees that are about 3 or 5 meters apart from one another, a piece of rope that is long enough so you can tie it from one tree to the other, a poncho or any fabric that can serve as your tent, and some stakes (you can make them using some pieces of wood). Make sure that your poncho or fabric will be shielding you from the wind.

Tie one end of the rope to the corner of the garment, fabric or poncho. Tie the other end of the rope to the other end of the fabric. Attach a drip stick around each end of rope. This will prevent raid or any moisture from dripping onto the poncho or fabric.

Tie the rope ends onto the trees. Keep them at waist height. Run the rope around each tree about 2 and a half times. Use a slip knot or something easy to remove. Spread the poncho/fabric to the ground and secure the edges with stakes.
