Anna agreed to make a statement, but Judge Echols wouldn’t sign off on the warrant. By itself, Anna’s statement wasn’t enough, and more supporting evidence would be necessary.

I got more supporting evidence when Isabella called a few moments later. But I wouldn’t be able to use it.

"I looked up the GPS history of Teresa's cell phone like you asked,” she said. “The night she disappeared, she was at Anna’s until 7:42 PM. From there, it looks like Teresa started walking home. But she made a detour and went to Pablo’s apartment. The phone stayed there for almost 2 hours. Then it moved to Salt Point Harbor and went off the grid."

I cringed. "That doesn't sound good."

“The device never popped back up after that. So…"

I knew what it meant, and I was beginning to think Nora was right. Teresa was no longer alive.

I thanked Isabella for the information, then spoke with the sheriff. "We need to get a dive team over to Salt Point."

"What are they looking for?"

"The body of Teresa Gomez."
