Yeah, I’m really in the Christmas spirit. Concentrating on school, already thinking about the end of second term next month, trying to keep up in all my classes.

I want to see Luke again, but his father’s back in town, so Luke has had to spend quality time with him. Quality time as far as guilt-ridden Dad sees it, since he’s been away so much. Spending money and taking Luke to all these fancy dinners and other stuff. Luke confessed he’d rather have a cheap date with me.

Carole and Guillaume are doing their French thing, ha ha. At least they haven’t invited me to any other parties. And Bobby? I’m happy because he’s happy, though I don’t get to see him much. Even though lacrosse doesn’t get going until spring, there must be enough for Bobby to do. At least from what he told me.

There is one good thing. I’ve gone to downtown Boston with Elena a couple of times. She’s a nice girl, and when she’s away from the family S-heads, she’s not so shy. We’ve had fun seeing different parts of the city. She loves it. Says even though it’s not as old as Vilnius in the Old Country where she’s from, parts of it do remind her of the capital.

I’m taking her to the Blink! festival at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. She’ll love the light show with the trees all lit up and the huge Christmas tree and the shops and all the people having a good time. It should give me a boost too.

It just snowed a little last night. The first snowfall of the season! Should make everything in Boston even prettier.

Mr. S-head drove Elena to our house, and we took the bus, then the trolley into the city. I wanted to take her to a special place of mine before we got to Faneuil Hall.

It’s the main library in Boston. Yeah, that’s me. The library is a special place for me. It’s been special ever since I started coming here to look at old newspapers and read about the moon landing and other historical events, reviews of old movies, descriptions of other events in Boston, and other things you can’t find on Google. All those articles take me away someplace. Like I’m traveling. But not in space. In time.

I’m not going to make Elena read microfilm! LOL. With the fresh snow, I want to take her to the courtyard of the library. It’s between the old building and a new building. The courtyard is open to the sky, with plants and a fountain in the middle. It’s so beautiful and peaceful, like a medieval monastery or places in Europe I’ve only seen pictures of. People sit around the courtyard quietly, doing work or just gazing out into space. I like to do that too. Sitting there makes me feel like I’m traveling, in another way.

I was glad to see Elena was impressed with the courtyard. With the fresh snow blanketing the fountain and the plants, it was even more beautiful and serene than usual.
