Chapter 11

I need Internet access

“SO, WHERE ARE WE GOING to go now?” asked Shannon.

“We are slowly heading for Canada. But first we going to Greensboro KOA Journey.” answered Juan.

Juan continued to say that it was a very nice KOA, and it had a good fast internet system there. He told them that he feels that they had taken a big chance at the last state park when he was forced to use local hot spots. He said that it was too easy for the authorities, which by now is the FBI, to find the exact location of his computer.

Shannon asked Juan what made him think that the FBI were now on their trail? He explained that they’ve broken enough federal laws and we’ve crossed state lines, which definitely makes it a federal issue. Shannon was not happy about that. She glanced at her father, who didn’t seem at all bothered by the possibility that the FBI was after them.

“What are we going to do? First it was Scotland yard, then Interpol, and now FBI? Didn’t we all come to the U.S. to escape capture? The FBI is as good as Scotland Yard, if not better.” Exclaim Shannon.

“Be quiet, woman.” Shouted Shane.

Shannon became silent immediately after the way her father spoke to her. She knew better than to challenge his authority. Juan glanced over at Shannon and assured her that they were safe. That the FBI will never catch them as long as they keep moving and follow their simple rules of engagement with the FBI. Shannon smiled back at Juan. She knew that Juan couldn’t understand what her father’s true intentions were. She knew her father had some underlining plan to cause some kind of destruction, for in his mind it would be a blow for the IRA. Brian was sitting next to his father, quietly listening to the exchange between his sister Shannon and his father. Brian agreed with Shannon. He also understood the reason they had escaped to the U.S. was to start a new life. Maybe a little off a straight line, but definitely not like the life they were trying to escape. He knew his father; he was always an IRA fanatical follower. Whether he was doing something for the IRA which they wanted or not. His father didn’t care. He felt he knew what the right thing was to do for Ireland.

“Hey there’s a Walmart ahead. We’ll stop there and get ourselves some supplies and supper for tonight.” Said Juan.

Juan drove into the parking lot and parked in an area specifically for RV and campers. Everyone got out and Juan asked Shannon if she would like to come with him to see what we might need for the next few days. She nodded yes.

The real reason Juan wanted Shannon to come with him was to assure her that he would not let anything happen to her. He reached out and held her hand tightly as he leaned over and gave her a kiss as he placed his lips on her delicate, sensuous mouth.
