When Olivia opens the door, I see the flush her mom was talking about. It’s sexy as hell. I pull her into the closet and clutch her close to me. Then I ease her on top of me, on top of a pile of high-heeled shoes. One pokes my back. I don’t even care. Or at least not enough to stop.

“You’ve got to get out of here,” she whispers in my ear.

“Mmm,” I say, putting my hands on her butt and drawing her closer. She draws her breath in sharply, and I groan as quietly as possible.

“You’ve got to leave before my mom notices you’re in the closet,” she hisses. Her mentioning her mom is almost as effective as a cold shower, except that her body is still pressing against mine in a way that’s sucking all the reason out of my brain.

“Right. Must go now,” I say, drawing the words out as long as possible to keep her on top of me.

“I’ll see if the coast is clear,” she says and then goes in for a deep, mind-blowing kiss.

“Uh-huh,” I say, my thoughts a shivering mess of Jell-O.

Then she gets off of me and she’s gone, and I’m left on the closet floor, trying to hold on to the feeling of her body pulsing against mine.

She waves me out of the closet, finger over her lips.

I can’t resist. I move her finger away and kiss her.

“Olivia?” There’s a tap on the door a second before it opens. Olivia shoves me in the corner and grabs the door.

“Have you seen my tennis shoes?” asks her mom.

“I think they’re in your closet,” Olivia says, boxing her mom out of the room.

“No, I just checked there. They must be downstairs.”

“I’m pretty sure they’re not. Check under your bed. I’ll look downstairs.”

“Aren’t you sweet?” says her mom, her voice fading down the hallway.

Olivia gestures wildly for me to escape out of the room. I follow her downstairs. I can’t help grinning at the panic in her eyes.

“You’re impossible,” she hisses, shooing me out. “Call me later.”

“Most definitely,” I answer.
